Features (itaconic acid): 1) Properties: a) Itaconic acid or methylene succinic acid b) M.W.: 130.1 c) M.F.: C5H6O4 2) Applications: a) Itaconic acid and its polymers can be made into effective deodorant by adding a little natural substance, to react with alkaline or acidic odor, including ammonium, amine, and hydrogen sulfide. This acid can also be used in paper and plastic thin film with deodorant functions b) Itaconic acid can copolymerize with styrene and butadiene to prepare SBR latex, which is widely used for paper coatings, metal and concrete paint; it is used for paints to improve quality and used as fiber carpet sizing agent to make carpet more ndurable c) Itaconic acid can react with acrylic and methacrylic acid or esters to prepare for resins, which can be widely used for emulsion coating,leather coating and coatings for car, refrigerator and other electrical appliances to improve adhesion, color and weather resistance. This acid can also be used for electro-coating with excellent adhesion, in dental binder with the helpof metal oxides.
