Properties: white crystal. Cold crystal takes the shape of flat diamond , hot crystal takes the shape of amorphism. Density: 3.917g/cm3 melting point: 9630C; boiling point: 15600C. It normally contains two crystal water which is stable in the air and not vulnerable to effloresce, but transformed to white powder when heated to 1130C. Vulnerable to dissolve in water and ethanol and acid. The water solution tastes bitter and tiny cool. Produce barium carbonate when worked with carbonate; produce white barium carbonate worked with sulfate.
Application: Chemical material of widest application in barium chloride. Applied to manufacturing all kinds of barium chloride in chemical industry; applied to steel heat treatment , quenching of alloy steel cutting tools ; and replace sodium cyanide as the cementite solution in steel industry. In addition, it is found in boiler treatment and salt electroanalysis; anti-fading of ceramics; manufacture of tannage, light sensitive materials, pesticide and artificial silk digestant.
