SELF-HEALING PROPERLY When a metallized dielectric broke down, a large current through the breakdown position and arc over-occurred, accompanied by a temperature rise around a breakdown point, and metallized electrodes around a breakdown point will be evaporated. As a result, the round non-metallized area will be formed, so that breakdown point will be insulated with surrounding electrode and no short circuit will be formed. The capacitor can be operated normally. This property is called self healing.
