Tokyo stocks opened slightly lower Friday.

In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average lost 20.52 points, or 0.15 percent, from Thursday to 13, 244.88.

The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange was down 1.24 points, or 0.10 percent, to 1, 296.78. The Second Section advanced.
