Premier: Make NE Chinese Harbor Shipping Center of NE Asia

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao says that China aims to make the city of Dalian not only a major harbor along China's northeast coast but also a shipping center for Northeast Asia. The premier made the remark during a recent tour of the city while attending the Summer Davos meeting.
While visiting a sub company of China First Heavy Industries, he calls for the need to revitalize northeast China's traditional industrial base.
"To revitalize northeast China's traditional industrial base, the three provinces in the northeast should unite to mutually complement each other. The revitalization of the traditional base can be expected soon."
While in Dalian, the premier has also visited local enterprises, schools, communities and the new harbor under construction.
Northeast China's three provinces are Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning.
