Ernsts Foods is principally involved in the food processing business and specialize in oat milling, our brand include Yorker series of products, Longevitiy oatmeal and oat products for domestic and international industrial market. We also involved in the contract manufacturing of products in various packaging. Since our establishment, we have positioned ourselves in producing a strong brand name in the mind of consumers in PRC. We have also successfully penetrated our oat products into the markets of the Southeast Asia, Middle East, India and Africa, to name just a few.

Ernsts Foods is a wholly owned subsidiary of Oriental Concept (China) Limited. Oriental Concept (China) Limited is registered company in Hong Kong which is wholly owned by a Malaysian company, Oriental Concept Sdn. Bhd. Besides Ernsts Foods, Oriental Concept Sdn. Bhd. also owns another food manufacturing plant in Malaysia; Family Cereal Sdn. Bhd.

The management of our company has been in the food processing business for the past 30 years and our experience include contract manufacturing, packing and supplying food ingredient to some of the largest names in the food industries.

OAT MILLING

The first oat milling plant added to the company’s operation was only with a capacity of 5,000 MT/year. Due the the vast business expansion, not only we had doubled up the orginal plant capacity, a second plant was added for an extra capacity of 10,000 MT/year. Today, we have a total combined capacity of 20,000 MT/year.

Oat based foods have long been recognized for their health benefits, and it is now generally accepted knowledge that oats make a significant contribution to human health.

Oats are a good source of total dietary fibre, and high percentage of soluble fibre in oats is proved to contribute to lower blood cholesterol levels and decrease risk of heart disease.

Oats contain a high percentage of desirable complex carbohydrates, which have been linked to: reduced risk of colon, breast, and prostate cancer; better management of diabetes and fewer bowel problems such as constipation.

The edible portion of oats contains one of the highest protein levels of all commonly consumed cereal grains. In addition to having an overall high protein content, oats contain one of the best amino acid profiles of all grains.

Like all cereal grains, oats have a relatively low fat content. The lipid present in oats contains a good balance of essential fatty acids and is primarily unsaturated. A higher dietary intake of unsaturated fats relative to overall fat consumption has been linked with longevity and general good health.

On January 23rd 1997, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced a final ruling in the federal register regarding the use of food labeling health claims based on the association between soluble fibre from whole oats and a reduced risk of coronary heart disease. The labeling claim has been approved for food products marketed in the U.S., based on thirty years of scientific evidence that the type of soluble fibre found in whole oat products (β-glucan soluble fibre) may lower blood cholesterol levels

Oat products are raw ingredients contained in a wide variety of food products, including: cookies, breads, snack food, ready to eat and hot cereal, health food products, granola bars, muffin, biscuit and cracker, meat extenders and beverages.

With the advance oat milling technology, Ernsts Foods is able to supply oat products as in whole rolled oat flakes, quick cook oat flakes, instant oat flakes, oat groats, oat flour and oat bran.

GRANOLA/MUESLI BARS PRODUCTION

Ernsts Foods started to produce granola/muesli bars segment to health-oriented consumers since year 2000. We can custom made a vast variety of these product such as candy bars, breakfast bars, cereal bars, snack bars which are ideal for on-the-go consumers; and they can mesh well with the today dietary guidelines.

Benefiting from consumer interest in low-carb foods, healthier snack and meal replacement alternatives and that ever-popular convenience factor, consumers have accelerated their drive to the bar. New options for them include protein and sports/energy bars, diet/weight-management bars, low-carb bars, specialty nutrition bars for diabetics and healthy bars.

QUALITY ASSUARANCE

To ensure that our products are of the highest quality, our company implements a series of stringent quality checks during the production process, incoming raw material and finished products to ensure the quality of products, net weight of products and the packaging of our products meets the specification of our clients. All our products are serial-numbered to ensure tractability. We are an ISO 9001:2000 Certified company.

At all stages of the processing, Ernsts Foods imposes strict quality control measures. As the product being manufactured is a food product, either as an ingredient or more often consumed as is, it is vitally important that the integrity of the finished product is maintained.

Hazard and Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practise (G.M.P.) plans are in place for all stages of storage handling and processing.

All Product is sampled upon manufacture and prior to despatch and analysed in the on-site laboratory to ensure that it is within specification. All practises of Food Safety are maintained including cleanliness, uniforms and hair covering in the manufacturing areas. Metal detectors and magnets are used to ensure no metallic items find their way into the product or the finished packages.
