Enterprise’s predecessor is a tile factory established in 1976 in Hekou Town, Rudong County. The used names include Nantong Yellow Sea Building Materials Factory, Nantong Zhongnan Special Cable Factory, Jiangsu Zhongtian Optic Fiber Cable Group, Jiangsu Zhongtian Optic Fiber Cable Co., Ltd. In 1999, company is commended as a New High-tech Enterprise by Science & Technology Ministry and China Science Institute. With the rapid development of our country’s communication industry, ZTT keeps making great efforts and becomes a modern group which is mainly dealing in optic fiber communication products and joining the trades of power, investment, real estate, hotel, etc. It owns 15 branch companies,near 1,000 staff and about 2 billion permanent assets. ZTT’s main products, optic fiber communication products, include ten series, over one hundred types and more than 20 patents. It is a professional company owning the most complete category of cables in China. In this industry, it’s well-known that “ZTT special optical cable is the best choice”. ZTT products have been comprehensively used in first-class trunk lines of China Telecom, China Netcom, China Unicom, China Mobile, China Railcom, National Power and State Grip Telecommunications Center. ZTT ADSS, OPGW, SOFC, 960-Fiber optic fiber ribbon cable and optical cable cord are listed respectively in National Torch Program Items and National Innovative Products.

Since the “King of Optical Cable”, submarine optic fiber cable (SOFC), is founded by ZTT first, its domestic market share has been increased steadily and became a famous brand of SOFC in China. That’s a good beginning for ZTT to develop the maximum submarine optic cable, submarine electric cable and submarine optoelectric composite cable in China. In 2002, there were totally 7 submarine cable projects in China, ZTT won 5 of them; in 2003, there were 9 submarine cable projects in China, ZTT won 7 of them.

ZTT develops and produces all-dielectric self-support optic fiber cable (ADSS) and optic fiber composite overhead ground wire (OPGW) for Telecom. Both of them passed state-level certification first in China. Their domestic market share has kept the first place for continued several years since they were put on the market. They are also exported to more than twenty countries and areas in Europe, America, Middle East, Southeast Asia, etc. ZTT telecommunication optical cable has become the first brand in China.

Microcable systematic technology developed by ZTT is commended as epoch-making product. It shows the combination of technological advantages and investment economy. This technology is highly valued by operators who are in short of conduit resource and listed operators who pay attention to investment reward rate as soon as it is put on the market. It is applied for commercial use in the projects of China Telecom, Ningxia Mobile, Liaoning Telecom, China Unicom, China Power, etc. The commercial use impels this technology’s development and application in China.

ZTT 960-fiber optic fiber ribbon cable sample has been collected by China Post and Telecommunication Museum. ZTT cord optical cable for indoor communication has passed UL certification and it is free of export inspection. ZTT develops special radio frequency cable for 3G. There has been some achievement in this field. It will become another development chance for enterprise.

ZTT optic fiber is a technical reform item established by State Economic & Trade Commission, National Development and Reform Commission and Information Industry Ministry and approved by China Securities Regularity Commission. On September 24th, 2003, it passed state-level certification. The director commissioner is China Telecom Group’s Chief Engineer Wei Leping. More than twenty experts from China Telecom, Unicom, Mobile, Netcom, Power, Railcom, Radio & Television, related design institutes, Information Industry Ministry’s Optic Communication Product Supervision Center, Optic Fiber Industry Branch Committee, Post & Telecommunication Equipment Corporation joined this certification. The production and sale quantity in that year was over 1 million core kilometers.

ZTT has shown its competitive power at the beginning of putting the special conductor products on the market for further entering power market, such as al-clad steel, al-alloy, aluminum wires, etc. It makes the solid basis of creating first brand of domestic special conductors.

ZTT’s development is supported by many domestic science research institutes. For developing technology and personnel training, the company has established long-term cooperation relationship with Nanjing Posts & Telecommunications University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Information Industry Ministry’s 8th research institute, Electric Industry Ministry’s 23rd research institute, etc. These institutes train a large quantity of professional talents for enterprise’s development.
