For over thirty years, Taiwan Chinsan has been growing and developing, this evidenced by the foundation of new additional research and manufacturing plants in Thailand and China. In October 1989,Chinsan Electronic Ind. (Thailand) Co., Ltd was founded in Bangkok. In November 1990,production commenced and the plant has grown to 420 staff. The R&D department has successfully developed ‘ conductive polymer aluminum solid capacitors ', and will start mass production in 2005. In April 1994, a joint venture was established between Taiwan Chinsan and the Japanese firm, Hitachi AIC Inc, one of the dominant capacitor-producing firms in Japan. Further, in October 1996, King Nichi Technology Guangzhou Co., Ltd was launched, Taiwan Chinsan being the first company in China to establish a joint venture with Hitachi AIC Inc. This joint venture resulted in the investment of US$9 million, fifteen thousand square meters of land as well as the input of first class skills from Hitachi AIC Inc. These skills give King Nichi as well as the whole of the Taiwan Chinsan Group a large competitive advantage as we are able to produce products consistent with Japanese quality, at much lower prices. At present, the joint venture employs 865 people. In the forthcoming years, we are looking forward to developing a closer relationship with Hitachi AIC Inc. through launching new series of capacitors as well as a joint search for new raw materials and manufacturing machines.

Additionally, in April 2000, King Nichi Electronic (Shanghai) Co. Ltd was set up, primarily as a sales office employing 30 staff, with a research and manufacturing plant scheduled to open in late 2004.

In April 2004,the Taiwan Chinsan Group was listed on the Taipei Stock Exchange.

Professional, quality management systems are an important asset to the Taiwan Chinsan Group. In October 2001, King Nichi achieved ISO 9001 and ISO 9002 was achieved in October 1996, October 1997 and November 1997 by Taiwan Chinsan, King Nichi and Chinsan Thailand respectively. Of equal importance is the environment, evidenced by the achievement of ISO 14001 by all three branches of the Taiwan Chinsan Group between May 2000 and February 2004.
